Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has called on the major political parties to collaborate in ensuring the success of the upcoming House of Representatives election. In a meeting held at her residence with senior leaders from the Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), and the Communist Party of Nepal, she emphasized the importance of their participation in the electoral process.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Karki stressed the collective responsibility to ensure a stable and sustainable democracy, viewing the election as pivotal to the nation’s future. She urged the political leaders to actively engage in the election, expressing confidence in their readiness and highlighting the government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for the electoral process. “Let’s make this election successful at any cost. Everyone should participate in it,” she stated.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Karki assured the leaders that the government has adequately equipped the Election Commission and the police administration with necessary resources, noting a recent boost in security personnel morale. Present at the meeting were key figures including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, and Communist Party of Nepal Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
The Prime Minister was joined by Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, underscoring the government’s commitment to facilitating a successful election.
