PM Karki to Convene with Major Political Party Leaders on Upcoming Election

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki and the top leaders from the three major political parties are scheduled to meet this afternoon to deliberate on the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election, slated for March 5, 2026.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting, which will take place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, will see the participation of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, stated that the principal agenda of the meeting is the forthcoming election.

The current government, established following the September 8-9 Gen Z movement, has been in continuous dialogue with political parties to ensure that the elections proceed smoothly and on schedule. This effort is part of a broader strategy to stabilize the post-movement political landscape.

On Friday, Minister Kharel proactively engaged with top leaders of the major political parties through separate meetings at their respective residences.
