Narainapur: Narainapur, a remote area situated beyond the Rapti River in the Banke district, has gained significant convenience with the establishment of a postal road.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the construction of the postal road has considerably eased the journey to Nepalgunj city, reducing it to a mere half-hour bus ride. Taj Mohammad Khan from Narainapur rural municipality-4 expressed that prior to the development of this road, residents were compelled to travel through India to reach Nepalgunj. He emphasized that the postal road has become a crucial lifeline for the community.
The newly built road accommodates four passenger buses daily, facilitating easier access to health and education for Narainapur’s population, as noted by Sohan Lal Yadav. He highlighted that previously, transporting sick individuals to health facilities posed a challenge, but now ambulances can reach the village, ensuring quicker access to medical care. Additionally, students commuting to Nepalgunj for higher education have experienced significant relief.
The dependency of Narainapur residents on the Indian market has also dramatically decreased due to the direct link to Nepalgunj. Ishtiyak Ahmad Sah, Chairman of Narainapur rural municipality, observed a sweeping change in the community following the road’s construction and the operation of passenger buses.
The realization of this road project, however, took two decades since its initial conception.
