Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma inaugurated the ‘FIFA Football for Schools’ campaign today during a ceremony hosted by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) at the Dashrath Stadium. The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the sports sector within the country.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the initiative aims to engage approximately 1,000 school students by providing them with free footballs. In addition to this, the campaign will offer specialized training to school teachers and football team coaches, aiming to foster a more robust development of football skills at the grassroots level.
Prime Minister Sharma also announced plans to construct an advanced stadium in Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur, which is expected to further bolster the infrastructure necessary for sports development. This move is seen as a significant step towards improving the sports facilities available in Nepal.
