Baluwatar: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was briefed on the progress of the Land Problem Resolution Commission’s work at his official residence in Baluwatar. The commission is actively working with all levels of government to address issues related to landless Dalits, squatters, and unregistered inhabitants by identifying them, collecting land records, and managing land certifications, surveys, dispute resolutions, and land registrations.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the commission’s efforts were discussed in the presence of Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari. Chairman Hari Prasad Rijal reported that a standard has been established to identify individuals who have not received housing or government land for the past decade and those living on government, public, and leasehold land without proper arrangements for at least ten years.
The commission officials indicated that passing a bill to amend certain land-related laws would facilitate their work. Prime Minister Oli expressed confidence in the bill’s passage in Parliament and instructed the commission to continue identifying and assisting landless individuals in a planned and accelerated manner. The commission was established by the government on October 30 last year.
