Kathmandu: Leaders from the tourism and hotel industry believe the RSS photo exhibition focused on mountains will enhance Nepal’s tourism and promote its unique identity. During their visit to the RSS photo exhibition themed ‘Mountain Tourism: Our Pride, Our Identity,’ held at the central office in Kathmandu, they unanimously remarked that the 96 photos of various mountains and mountain heritages are significant for tourism promotion.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Hotel Association Nepal’s President Binayak Shah expressed confidence that the photos displayed in the exhibition would play an instrumental role in affirming Nepal as a top travel destination. The exhibition, ongoing since May 29 in commemoration of the 18th Republic Day, has garnered attention for its portrayal of the country’s extraordinary natural beauty.
Shah suggested that the RSS management consider publishing a ‘coffee table book’ to preserve the displayed photos. Such a publication would serve as a keepsake for foreigners visiting Nepal. He pledged the support of HAAN in preserving and promoting the photos, noting that this effort would enhance the effectiveness and importance of showcasing Nepal’s mountainous landscapes.
Furthermore, Shah praised the historic and systematic efforts of the RSS to establish the RSS Media Museum and News Bulletin Room, curating equipment and materials used for news dissemination since RSS’s establishment in 1962.
RSS Executive Chairperson Dharmendra Jha emphasized that the photos would help highlight the importance and beauty of Nepal’s mountains. Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) President Sagar Pandey also expressed that the exhibition would significantly contribute to promoting Nepal’s tourism. He advocated for the digitalization of the displayed photos to broaden their reach and leverage technology to publicize Nepal’s natural beauty. Pandey noted that RSS has preserved history by establishing the Media Museum, which allows visitors to explore the past news dissemination processes.
