Kathmandu: Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar Hashmi, expressed gratitude to the Nepal government for organizing the Sagarmatha Sambaad, emphasizing its role in highlighting critical climate change issues on a global platform.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Ambassador Hashmi spoke to media personnel at the Embassy, describing the Sagarmatha Sambaad as a significant event for the Hindu Kush region, especially as global temperatures continue to rise at an alarming rate.
He noted the shared challenges faced by Nepal and Pakistan in protecting the Himalayas and stressed the importance of addressing issues related to climate, education, health, and tourism. Ambassador Hashmi highlighted the need for both countries to preserve historical heritages and biodiversity, suggesting that collaboration could be beneficial in tackling these challenges.
