Kathmandu: A delegation of the National Senior Citizens’ Federation (NASCIF) has met with President Ramchandra Paudel at the latter’s residence today. During the meeting, the delegation requested for President Paudel’s support in ensuring representation of senior citizens in the National Assembly, reform in distribution of senior citizens’ allowance, distribution of allowance based on economic classification, citizenship to the stateless senior citizens, and promotion of the concept of joint families.
According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel mentioned that he would draw the attention of the concerned authorities toward the problems facing senior citizens. The meeting highlighted the need for systemic changes to better address the issues and needs of the aging population. The delegation emphasized the importance of the President’s role in advocating for these reforms and ensuring that senior citizens receive the attention and resources they require.
