Bharatpur: General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has emphasized that continuing the struggle on the path of enlightenment is the true way to honor BP Koirala. During the inauguration of the BP Memorial Building at Bharatpur municipality-11, Thapa highlighted the necessity for the Nepali Congress (NC) to persist in efforts for enlightenment, recalling BP Koirala’s lifelong dedication to societal improvement.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Thapa expressed concerns over the current performance of the party, noting that it does not align with BP Koirala’s vision. Despite this, he affirmed that the NC remains committed to its responsibilities. He remarked on the party’s historical role, transitioning from monarchy to republic and promoting loktantra according to BP’s ideals, and encouraged party members to promote both the party and BP’s philosophies.
Central Treasurer Umesh Shrestha also spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of strengthening unity within the NC. He suggested that a stronger NC would naturally weaken opposition forces. Various local leaders contributed to the discussion on BP’s ideology and the current political climate.
