Suspension Bridge Replaces Last Ropeway in Kharpunath

Kharpunath: A suspension bridge has been constructed to replace a Tuin, or ropeway crossing, over the Karnali River in Kharpunath Rural Municipality. This development marks a significant improvement in the connectivity and safety for the residents of the region.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the new suspension bridge at Lighe in Lalibagar connects Kharpunath-1 and 2 by replacing the old ropeway crossing. Ward-2 Chair Chandrabir Rawal highlighted that the construction of the suspension bridge has made the movement of citizens between Wards 1 and 2 more efficient and safer.

Rawal also noted that this was the last ropeway crossing to be replaced, signifying that the entire rural municipality is now free of Tuins. This transformation is expected to greatly benefit the local community by providing a reliable and secure means of crossing the Karnali River.
