Tourism Tied to Himalayan Beauty: NA Chair Dahal Highlights Potential

Kathmandu: Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, emphasized the importance of linking the mountains and mountain ranges of the country with adventure tourism to gain global recognition. During a visit to the photo exhibition titled ‘Mountain Tourism: Our Pride, Our Identity,’ organized by the National News Agency (RSS) on the occasion of the 18th Republic Day, Dahal remarked on the significance of promoting these natural resources.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Dahal praised RSS for its efforts over the past three years in promoting the country’s beauty to the Nepali people through various themed photo exhibitions. He acknowledged the opportunity provided by RSS for people to appreciate the country’s invaluable resources. Dahal also shared concerns about important bills pending in the House of Representatives, expressing a desire for the House session to progress swiftly.

Dahal noted the proactive role of the National Assembly, asserting that it has been functioning diligently according to its constitutional powers, thus avoiding past practices of inactivity during obstructions in the House of Representatives. Executive Chairman of RSS, Dharmendra Jha, welcomed Dahal to the exhibition and expressed confidence in the exhibition’s role in highlighting the significance and beauty of the country’s mountains.

Koshi Province Chief Parashuram Khapung also highlighted the potential of the Himalayas and adventure tourist destinations as national assets. He stressed the need for branding these destinations to promote tourism, commending RSS for its role in providing information about the tourist destinations and the potential for mountain tourism.

Khapung expressed optimism that the photo exhibition, which covers mountains and adventure activities, would inspire hope and counter negative perceptions about the country’s potential. Earlier today, Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel also visited the exhibition, which began on May 25 and features 96 photographs showcasing various mountain ranges, the Himalayan lifestyle, and key tourist destinations.
