Kathmandu: A person has killed his own daughter and nephew using a sharp weapon in Chitwan district today. Leela Raj Giri, 42, of Bharatpur metropolitan city also attempted to take his own life after committing the murders.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Giri attacked his seven-year-old daughter, Prabha Giri, and five-year-old nephew while the children were preparing to go to school. Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Govinda Puri, reported that all three were taken to Chitwan Medical College for treatment, where the two children succumbed to their injuries. Giri remains in serious condition.
Puri further mentioned that Giri is a former soldier and had been reportedly suffering from mental illness.
