Vehicular Movement Resumes at Nala-Bhaktapur Section After Temporary Bridge Installation

Nala: Vehicular movement at the Nala-Bhaktapur section, which was obstructed from Friday, has resumed from this morning. The road section faced a complete shutdown after a bridge located at the border of Banepa municipality-4 and 1 in Kavrepalanchowk collapsed on Friday night.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the District Traffic Office in Banepa confirmed that vehicular movement has been restored along the section by managing a temporary bridge with six hume pipes. Police Inspector Sunil Dhanju stated that the temporary bridge was set up with the coordination of Banepa municipality and the Department of Roads. The road section between Chyamasing of Bhaktapur and Nala of Kavrepalanchowk is being utilized as an alternative route for entering Kathmandu Valley from eastern Nepal.

The original bridge was constructed in 2037 BS. For the past two years, most vehicles have been using the Nala-Chyamasing road section due to ongoing road widening efforts from Suryabinayek to Dhulikhel of Kavrepalanchowk along the Araniko highway.
