Vote Counting Under PR System Sees Over 8 Million Votes Tallied

Kathmandu: A total of eight million 382 thousand and 984 votes have been counted so far under the proportional representation of the House of Representatives election held on March 5.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) currently leads with the highest number of votes, having secured four million 50 thousand and 753 votes. The counting process, which is still ongoing, has also revealed that the Nepali Congress has received one million 361 thousand and 431 votes, placing it in second position.

The CPN (UML) follows with one million 151 thousand and 253 votes, while the Nepali Communist Party has garnered 592,410 votes. Additionally, the Shram Sanskriti Party has received 292,063 votes, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has accumulated 277,013 votes.

The counting of votes continues as the parties await the final results of this crucial election.
