Kathmandu: The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has announced that Sunil Kumar Yadav, the Coordinator of Chure and Forests Conservation Campaign, will be the recipient of this year’s ‘Prakash Human Rights Award’.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the decision was made by the ‘Prakash Human Rights Award’ jury committee, which was formed under the coordination of INSEC’s founding Chairperson, Sushil Pyakurel. INSEC Chairperson Dr. Kundan Aryal shared that Yadav was selected from a pool of 40 candidates due to his ongoing active involvement in Chure conservation and environmental rights since 2074 BS.
Yadav, who resides in Simraungadh Municipality-2 in Bara district, has been recognized for his dedication to these causes. The award, which includes a monetary prize of Rs 50,000, will be presented to Yadav during a program organized on the 33rd Prakash Memorial Day in Kathmandu on August 1. This annual award is presented by INSEC in memory of its founding General-Secretary, Prakash Kafle.
