Kathmandu: The 10th National Games is set to take place from February 13 to 19 in Karnali Province. The decision was made during the 123rd board meeting of the National Sports Council, which was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the Minister for Youth and Sports, Bablu Gupta.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting also resolved to recommend to the cabinet that former runner Jit Bahadur KC, who secured the first international medal for Nepal, be awarded Rs 2.5 million. Additionally, several other resolutions were passed, including instructing national sports associations that have not organized national championships for some time to conduct them within three months. The associations were also urged to provide facilities and announce prizes for the concerned players within 15 days.
The meeting emphasized the need for national sports associations to submit reports related to foreign visits to the National Sports Council. Those present at the meeting included NSC Member-Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, Vice-Chairperson Dhurba Acharya, and Secretary at the Ministry Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal, along with other board members.
