Sintitar: Two teenage girls living in a rented quarter in Thimi Municipality-9, Madhyapur were found dead this morning. Menuka Kandel, 17, and her sister Sirjana Kandel, 15, originally from Panchapuri Municipality-8, Surkhet, were discovered hanging in the passage of the house they were residing in. The house is a two-storey building owned by local resident Niraj Chakradhar.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Dhungana, who is the Chief of Police Circle Thimi, reported that the sisters had been living on the ground floor of the house for only two weeks. The homeowner stated that the teenage girls had recently moved in, indicating their stay was brief.
Police authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
