Siraha: Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Satish Kumar Singh, has emphasized the importance of promoting entrepreneurship among women as a crucial step towards their socioeconomic empowerment. Speaking at an event organized to announce the new working committee of the Siraha chapter of the Women Entrepreneurs’ Federation Nepal, CM Singh highlighted the role of entrepreneurship in helping women achieve financial independence and build confidence.
According to National News Agency Nepal, CM Singh stressed the need for proper marketing of products created by women entrepreneurs, noting that quality products have the potential for export. He advocated for the promotion of locally produced goods to reduce unnecessary imports, suggesting that the country should move away from importing items that can be produced domestically. The Chief Minister also noted that indigenous skills could be enhanced through the use of technology to better leverage local resources.
Shobha Gyawali, Central Chair of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs, mentioned that the Federation has established chapters in all 77 districts. She argued that women entrepreneurship benefits not only individual women but also their families and society as a whole.
Mayor of Lahan Municipality, Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary, expressed that women have the potential to earn more than men working abroad. The Municipality offers training to women to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to start their own businesses.
An 11-member new committee of the Federation has been established under the leadership of Khusbu Jaiswal.
