Kathmandu: The House of Representatives has forwarded the ‘Alternative Development Finance Mobilization Bill-2081’ to the relevant committee for a detailed clause-wise discussion. This decision was reached during the latest assembly session.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel introduced the proposal to move the bill to the committee stage for further examination. The motion received unanimous support from the members present, signaling a collective agreement on the importance of thoroughly scrutinizing the bill’s provisions.
In addition to the finance bill, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, introduced the Nepal Veterinary Council (First Amendment) Bill. This demonstrates the government’s focus on advancing legislative measures across various sectors.
Earlier in the session, Speaker Devraj Ghimire successfully passed a proposal concerning changes in membership across several thematic committees under the House of Representatives. This move is part of the ongoing efforts to streamline legislative processes and ensure effective representation within the committees.
The session also took a moment to honor the late lawmaker Khagraj Sharma, who passed away on July 21. A condolence motion was passed to pay tribute to Sharma, who was elected to the House of Representatives in 2048 BS from the CPN (UML). The passing of this motion reflects the assembly’s respect and acknowledgment of Sharma’s contributions to the legislature.
The House of Representatives is scheduled to reconvene on Wednesday, continuing its legislative duties and discussions.
