Bhaktapur: The Nepali Army (NA) is set to offer scholarships to residents of Changunarayan municipality in Bhaktapur district who wish to pursue technical education at its academic institution in Kharipati.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Nepali Army School of EME Polytechnic has agreed to provide scholarships for four local students to study Diploma in Automobile Engineering and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
A seven-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between Changunarayan Municipality and the NA’s School to facilitate this initiative. Jivan Khatri, Mayor of the Municipality, and Mohan Kumar Shrestha, Chief Administrator of the Municipality, signed the MoU on behalf of the Municipality, while NA’s Lieutenant Colonel Anup Dangol represented the School.
As outlined in the MoU, the Municipality will provide full scholarships for one student in each of the two diploma programs, covering 50 percent of the tuition fee per student. The NA’s school has also agreed to allocate additional quotas to Changunarayan Municipality for both programs. Mayor Khatri noted that local students will be able to access technical education through these additional seats starting this year.
With admissions now open, the Municipality has issued a notice inviting applications from interested and eligible candidates for the scholarship programs.
