Kathmandu: Suraj Kumar Dura has been promoted to the vacant position of Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat. A decision to this effect was made during a meeting of the secretariat operations and management committee, chaired by the Speaker.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the promotion committee led by the Public Service Commission had recommended Dura for the position alongside Manoj Kumar Giri and Hridayaram Maharjan two days prior to the meeting. This promotion comes in the wake of the resignation of secretariat secretary Sudarshan Khadka, which left the position vacant.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire and National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, among others, extended their congratulations to the newly-appointed Secretary Dura, expressing their best wishes for his successful tenure.
