Kathmandu: National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has highlighted the necessity for the state to implement specific policies and programs aimed at engaging the younger generation in agriculture.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chair Dahal, while addressing an Agriculture Olympic program, underscored the importance of government initiatives to attract youth interest in agriculture. He argued that the active participation of educated and informed young individuals in agriculture would not only make them self-reliant but also foster development in this sector. Dahal emphasized that agriculture serves as the backbone of the country’s prosperity, with farmers being the foundational element.
He acknowledged that the state has not adequately addressed the challenges faced by genuine farmers. Chair Dahal called for a revolution in the agriculture sector that includes social justice and stressed the necessity for the effective implementation of farmers’ constitutional rights.
Dahal also highlighted the need for transformation within the agriculture sector. The program saw the participation of more than 100 young farmers from various parts of the country, shared Programme Coordinator Nahendra Khadka.
