Three Share Investors Including Agrawal Arrested for Fraud

Kathmandu: Police here on Monday arrested three share investors, including Deependra Agrawal, on the charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust. Agrawal, 42, a permanent resident of Biratnagar Metropolitan-9 in Morang district and currently residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)-14 in Kathmandu, was taken into custody following a complaint lodged by Dinesh Prasad Shah, 60, a resident from Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-1 in Dhanusha district and presently residing at KMC-10.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Apilraj Bohora, Spokesperson of Police Range Kathmandu and Superintendent of Police, stated that the arrests were made after Shah alleged that Agrawal lured him into transferring shares and made him deposit Rs 60.45 million into Agrawal’s account. However, Agrawal neither provided Shah with the promised shares nor refunded the money.

It is noted that the District Court, Kathmandu, had issued an arrest warrant against the three individuals after a case was registered on July 14.
