Kalyanpur: Mayor of Kalyanpur Municipality, Rampukar Sah, has been arrested with a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Bardibas office conducted the raid at the municipality’s office premises this afternoon.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the mayor was apprehended while accepting a bribe from the consumer committee. The Commission had been monitoring Mayor Sah based on prior information, leading to his arrest with substantial evidence.
The Commission has announced that necessary legal procedures have been initiated against Mayor Sah, ensuring that due process will be followed in addressing the corruption charges.
