Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has made an appeal for the National Assembly (NA) session to be convened at the earliest opportunity. This call was made during a meeting of the NC National Assembly Parliamentary Party held on Thursday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the decision to urge the NA Chair, Narayan Prasad Dahal, to summon the NA session promptly was taken under the leadership of NC parliamentary party leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula. The urgency for this session arises from the absence of the House of Representatives (HoR), positioning the NA as the sole sovereign forum for expressing public concerns.
Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, NC’s Chief Whip, highlighted the significance of the NA as the only sovereign platform to voice public issues. Additionally, the meeting paid respects to several political leaders who had passed away, including Constituent Assembly Members Ganesh Bahadur Khadka and Ram Ayodhya Prasad Yadav, as well as other former and current leaders such as Dhundiraj Shastri, Govinda Prasad Sharma Kandel, Achyutraj Regmi, Khadag Bahadur Basyal, Krishna Kumari Shrestha, Rishikesh Gautam, and Mohammad Aftab Alam.
