President Paudel Advocates for Education Aligned with Nepal’s Development Goals

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has emphasized the importance of aligning education with Nepal’s development aspirations by focusing on curriculum and pedagogy that boost domestic production and employment while cultivating skilled and disciplined citizens who respect labor.

According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel addressed a program celebrating the 75th anniversary of Nepal Adarsha Secondary School, highlighting the necessity of providing education that aligns with the desires of Nepal and its people for increased production, employment creation, and infrastructure development in this era of technological advancement.

The President noted the country’s shift towards rapid development following political changes and the adoption of a federal democratic republic governance system. He stressed the need for quality education that leverages curriculum, technology, and human resources to meet modern demands starting from the school level.

President Paudel called for a collective focus from the government and educational stakeholders on nurturing capable and qualified individuals, underscoring the importance of quality, technical education, and competition. He emphasized the need to reduce the trend of students going abroad for studies by developing human resources to meet market demands.

He reflected on the role of education in knowledge transfer, awareness, awakening, and societal transformation, asserting that education forms the foundation of a civilized and cultured modern society and is essential for the nation’s overall development.

President Paudel highlighted the historical significance of Nepal Adarsha School’s establishment during the Rana regime, which aimed to deprive the public of education to prevent opposition to autocratic rule. He stressed that the school’s name should be remembered for embodying the founders’ ideals and commitment to preparing dedicated students for the motherland.

During the occasion, President Paudel honored former students, including Supreme Court Justice Sapana Malla Pradhan and Nepal Bar Association President Bijaya Prasad Mishra, among others who have contributed to the school’s legacy.
