Bagmati: Newly-elected Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, has emphasized the importance of the private sector, transportation, and marginalized and poor communities during his tenure. At a programme organized by Narayani Transport Entrepreneurs Association on Wednesday, Chief Minister Baniya committed to working on improvements in the transport sector, highlighting his role as an advisor to the association.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chief Minister Baniya stated that initiatives would be launched to maintain the national highways, which are currently in poor condition, in coordination with the federal government. He underlined the need to complete the Pathalaiya-Hetauda-Narayangadh road expansion, reiterating that the private sector is crucial for development within a democratic framework.
During the event, Association Chairperson Hira Lal Shrestha informed Chief Minister Baniya about the challenges facing the transport sector.
