Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged central committee members to strengthen the party’s internal unity. Chairing the ninth central committee meeting of the party that began today, Chair Oli emphasized that the entire party line should be united, noting there was no ideological and policy-level dispute within the party. He informed the committee that party membership has increased by 139,000, marking a 28 percent rise and contributing to a stronger party organization.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chair Oli called on the party’s central members to transform the party into a decisive force in the country, as shared by UML Central Publicity Department Chief, Rajendra Gautam. He highlighted that while there is no internal confrontation, members should remain vigilant against potential efforts by some elements to create disputes and divisions. Central committee members were invited to express their views during the meeting.
Leader Gautam shared that discussions would also cover the recent meeting between Chair Oli and former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, particularly regarding Bhandari’s announcement to return to party politics. Additionally, Vice-Chairperson Bishnu Prasad Paudel is set to present a statute amendment proposal, while the General-Secretary will present an organizational report during the two-day meeting.
The meeting will also address the managerial preparations for the upcoming Statute Convention.
