Chitwan: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has stated that the issue of ‘visit visas’ is not merely a contemporary problem. At a news conference organized by Press Centre Chitwan at Dahal’s residence in Shivanagar of Chitwan district, Chair Dahal pointed out that the visit visa problem has been present since 2064 BS.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dahal emphasized the need for policy-level reforms and a thorough investigation to address the ongoing issue. He remarked, “We all are known about the visit visa which is taking place since 2064 BS. However, there should be policy-level reforms and investigation into the issue.”
The CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair stressed the importance of resolving the visit visa issues by any means necessary, including constitutional amendments, new legislation, or policy-level decisions. He noted that even from the opposition, they have been taking on roles typically associated with ruling parties, particularly concerning the constitution, laws, acts, and systems.
He further clarified that their agreement to resume the House included conditions such as forming a probe committee within 30 days and taking responsibility for passing the budget, issuing the federal civil service act, the school education act, and completing the remaining tasks of the peace process.
