World Indigenous Peoples Day to Be Celebrated for a Week by NEFIN


Kathmandu: The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has announced plans to extend the celebration of the 31st International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples into a week-long event.



According to National News Agency Nepal, NEFIN’s President Gelje Lama Sherpa shared at a recent press conference that the observance will commence on August 9. NEFIN General Secretary Divas Rai elaborated that the main event will take place at the National Conference Hall of Bhrikutimandap. The celebration will showcase cultural pageantry that highlights the unique identities of various indigenous communities. Additionally, there will be a display of native food items during the week-long festivities.
