Bangladesh Government Introduces Secretariat Entry Policy Aimed at Enhancing Security

Dhaka: The government has introduced the ‘Bangladesh Secretariat Entry Policy, 2025’ to regulate the entry of individuals and vehicles into the Secretariat, aiming to create a conducive work environment. The new policy seeks to prevent the entry of unauthorized personnel and maintain order within the administrative hub.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the policy was developed following consultations with relevant stakeholders, reflecting the current global standards and adapting to the evolving situation. The Home Ministry issued a notification, signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani, outlining the objectives of the policy. It builds upon the “Bangladesh Secretariat Entry Policy, 2014” with a focus on security and discipline.

The notification emphasized the Secretariat’s role as the center of the nation’s administrative functions, housing most government ministries and divisions. These entities are tasked with policy formulation, planning, and implementing development projects for national welfare.

The Home Minister has urged adherence to this policy to ensure comprehensive security for the Secretariat. As part of the policy, a Secretariat Access Control and Security Committee will be established, including officials from various divisions within the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Deputy Commissioner of Police responsible for Secretariat security.
