Disrespect Towards Country Is Intolerable: PM Oli

Lalitpur: CPN (UML) Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has declared that anything else could be tolerated, but disrespect towards the country is intolerable. He emphasized the importance of national respect while addressing representatives on the final day of the party’s statute convention in Godavari, Lalitpur.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Chair Oli highlighted the sacrifices the CPN (UML) has made for freedom of expression and national sovereignty. He clarified that the party is not against social networking sites but stated that earning money from business activities in Nepal while disregarding the law is unacceptable. Chair Oli criticized the influence of so-called intellectuals, asserting that their thoughts are not independent and that they have attempted to negatively influence society. He noted recent efforts to incite society under the guise of the ‘Gen G’ movement but reaffirmed that the ‘Gen G’ generation loves the country.

Chair Oli also recalled the government’s ongoing efforts to encourage social networking sites to register, reiterating that the country’s sovereignty is of greater importance than the potential loss of employment for a few individuals. He stressed that sovereignty and freedom are achieved through self-respect, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining the nation’s dignity and independence.
