Kathmandu: Bijaya Subba was reelected the chair of the Election Commission of the ruling CPN (UML).
According to National News Agency Nepal, UML’s publicity department chief, Rajendra Gautam, announced that the ongoing Second Statute Congress of the UML unanimously elected Dr Subba to the post. Prior to this, Dr Subba held the same position.
In addition to Dr Subba’s reelection, Sanuraja Pokhrel was elected as the vice-chair of the commission, while Kunsang Lama secured the position of the commission’s secretary. The party’s election commission is tasked with organizing the elections of the UML’s national congress, other committees, and sister organizations. The Second Statute Congress of the UML is currently taking place in Godawari, Lalitpur.
