Health Ministry Implements 24/7 Blood Availability Hotline Amid Protests

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has announced the operation of ‘Hotline 1115’ throughout the night to provide hospitals with information about blood availability in an effort to prevent a shortage for those injured during the Gen Z protests occurring today.

According to National News Agency Nepal, any hospital facing a shortage of blood can directly call 1115 to obtain immediate information on blood availability at blood banks or hospitals.

Previously, this hotline service, part of the ‘Hello Health Programme’, was available daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. In light of the current demonstrations, the ministry has extended the service to overnight hours to ensure no shortage of blood for the injured and to facilitate easy access to necessary resources.

Additionally, the health ministry has issued a circular to all federal hospitals, mandating the arrangement of free treatment for those injured during the protests.
