Kathmandu: A report has been presented stating that there was no alternative to Chairperson KP Sharma Oli in the next leadership of the CPN (UML). Chief of the CPN (UML) Publicity and Publication Department and standing committee member Rajendra Gautam shared that the party leaders, during group-wise discussions in the ongoing second statute convention, mentioned that there was no alternative to Chair Oli in party leadership.
According to National News Agency Nepal, some media outlets disseminated incorrect information regarding statements made by leaders on the issues of age limit and two-year term during the group-wise discussions on the third day of the convention, Gautam opined. He further clarified that the leaders of 10 different groups submitted a report during the closed session, incorporating the issues raised in the discussions.
Gautam argued that the statute should include a provision preventing not only the President and Vice President but also those who have received constitutional appointments from returning to party politics. This suggestion reflects a significant point of discussion among party members as they work to solidify their leadership structure.
