Three people, including a motorcyclist, were killed in two separate road accidents on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in the district today.
Of the three deceased, one was identified as motorcycle rider Khademul, 27, resident of Kalshi area of Mirpur in Dhaka.
Highway police and local sources said the accident occurred when motorcyclist Khademul reached Srishtigor area of Shibpur upazila on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at 4am a speeding bus of Dhaka-bound Ena Paribahan crushed the motorcyclist. As a result, Khademul was injured seriously.
Later, he was taken to Narsingdi General Hospital where on-duty doctor
declared him dead.
Meanwhile, in the morning, two people were killed in a road accident as a covered van hit another truck in front of Narayanpur bus stand
at Belab upazila.
Driver and helper of the covered van died on the spot.
