Kathmandu: The Special Committee formed by the parliament to investigate errors in the Report on the Federal Civil Service Bill has submitted its report to Speaker Devraj Ghimire at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor. Committee coordinator Jeevan Pariyar presented the report, marking the culmination of an extensive investigation process.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the committee completed its report last night, deciding to submit it in today’s session of the House of Representatives. The committee, composed of members from various political parties, conducted 37 meetings over a span of 29 days to finalize its findings. The creation of the committee was prompted by discrepancies related to the cooling-off period in the Bill, which contradicted decisions made by the parliamentary committee that originally finalized the bill.
The probe committee was established on July 6 and included Jeevan Pariyar as coordinator, along with Sushila Thing from the Nepali Congress, Narayan Prasad Acharya and Ishwori Gharti from the CPN (UML), Madhav Sapkota from the CPN (Maoist Center), Ganesh Parajuli from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Roshan Karki from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. The committee’s work aimed to address the contentious issues and provide clarity on the provisions of the Federal Civil Service Bill.
