Kathmandu: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has articulated that a socialism-oriented economy plays a crucial role in eradicating existing social and cultural discriminations. He made these remarks during a program organized by the All Nepal Women’s Association, which is associated with the party, on the occasion of the Teej festival in the federal capital on Sunday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chairman Nepal emphasized that an economy grounded in socialism could be developed on the pillars of equality, justice, human rights, and inclusive and proportional systems. He asserted that the current system, which is rooted in justice and equality, has resulted in increased representation of women in political and administrative spheres. This shift, he believed, is likely to generate positive changes in the realms of education, health, and entrepreneurship.
Chairman Nepal also highlighted ongoing efforts at both national and international levels to mitigate violence against women. He called upon women to celebrate the Teej festival as an opportunity for social empowerment and harmony.
During the event, Jayanti Rai, the In-Charge of the Women Association and Vice Chairperson of the party, stressed the importance of respecting originality while celebrating the Teej festival. She also underscored the need to promote best practices in women’s empowerment. The occasion also featured a cultural session.
