Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has asserted that efforts are underway to mislead society by disseminating false narratives that the established parties have been ineffective. Speaking at an interaction and Teej greetings exchange program organized by the party’s well-wisher organizations Coordination Department at the central office in Sanepa, Deuba highlighted the necessity to counter such narratives.
According to National News Agency Nepal, President Deuba emphasized the importance of activating all sister and well-wisher organizations of the party. He stressed the need to ensure stability by fostering broad unity within the party to secure a majority in the upcoming elections. He also described Teej as a significant festival for Nepali women, noting its importance in strengthening family relations.
General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa underscored the urgency for sister organizations that uphold the party’s interests and democratic values to hold timely conventions and become dynamic.
Central member and head of the women’s department, Pushpa Bhusal, expressed concern over the perceived weakening of the constitution and structures established under the Nepali Congress’s leadership. She urged the party to focus on reinforcing its agenda and cautioned against introducing laws that could promote inequality among women.
Abdul Satar, head of the department, highlighted the role of the party’s well-wishers in regaining lost votes to fortify the party’s position.
