Protecting Security Personnel’s Eyesight Helps Keep Citizens Safe

Kathmandu: Free eye checkups were conducted for security personnel on the occasion of World Vision Day. Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh offered the free eye examination service through its hospitals, treatment centers, and network across the country.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Executive Director of the Sangh, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Mishra, informed that priority was given to the eye health of police officers working day and night in public service. Free eye examinations were conducted throughout the country by mobilizing its network on this year’s World Vision Day.

Sangh’s general secretary, Bharat Bahadur Chand, stated that 28 eye hospitals and 226 eye treatment centers operated across the country are conducting eye examination programs in coordination with local police offices on the occasion. “We can live confidently as the police provide us security. When the eyesight of those engaged in our protection is safeguarded, our safety is also ensured. In keeping with this, we are celebrating World Vision Day by prioritizing the eye health of the police this time,” he added.

Sangh’s chair, Prof. Dr. Chet Raj Pant, shared that free eye health checkups of police working in public areas were undertaken as they are exposed to roads, smoke, dust, and direct sunlight. This initiative underscores the importance of protecting the vision of those who serve to protect the community, thus ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens.
