2 die, 138 dengue patients hospitalised in last 24 hrs in Ctg

Two including a woman died and 138 dengue

patients were hospitalised at various hospitals in Chattogram during the last

24 hours.

A total of 138 dengue patients were hospitalised at various hospitals in

Chattogram today, dengue control room of the District Civil Surgeon’s Office

said here this afternoon.

Of the total affected patients, 58 were admitted in government hospitals and

46 in private hospitals.

The people who died of dengue in Chattogram Medical College and Hospital

(CMCH) are 34-year old Aklima Akter, hailed from Sitakunda upazila and 46-

year old Enamul Hoque, hailed from Banskhali upazila of the district.

Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Iliyas Chowdhury said a total of 5,697 dengue

patients have been detected in Chattogram in the last nine months till

September 7 this year and the number of deaths has reached 53 in Chattogram

this year.

Of them 3,396 dengue patients admitted to government hospitals and 2,301 have

received treatment in private hospitals.

A total of 5,325 dengue patients have recovered and returned to their

respective homes, the sources added.
