A labourer was killed after being hit by
a lightning strike on a paddy field in Nachole upazila of the district this
afternoon.
The deceased was Komol Babu, 28, son of Botis Baroar of Mohammadur
Jalmachkuri under Nachole upazila of the district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nachole thana Md. Tarekur Rahman Sarkar said Komol
died on the spot after being hit by a lightning strike as he was working on
his paddy field at the village around 12.35 pm.
Being informed, police from Nachole thana recovered the body and handed it
over to his family, he added.
