DHAKA, Teams of both men’s and women’s sections of
Independence Day Handball competition were declared joint champions due to
natural disaster caused by tropical cyclone “Remal”.
Technical and appeal sub-committee of the competition today (Monday) took the
decision after unable to host both the final matches due to heavy downpour
that sweeping across the country.
In the day’s final matches, Border Guard Bangladesh was scheduled to meet
Bangladesh Ansar and VDP in the men’s section final while Bangladesh Ansar
and VDP was scheduled to face Bangladesh Police Handball Club in the women’s
section final at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in
the capital.
