A two-day construction carnival 1.0 began at
Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) campus aimed at
showcasing the brilliance of budding engineers.
Building Engineering and Construction Management (BECM), under the Faculty of
Civil Engineering, organised the event.
Marking the carnival, a large number of teachers, researchers and students
brought out a grand rally in the campus. Subsequently, they held a discussion
at the central auditorium.
Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Jahangir Alam addressed the discussion as the
chief guest with BECM Department head Prof Rabiul Awal in the chair.
Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Water Development Board Amirul Haque
Bhuiyan, DG of House and Building Research Institute Ashraful Alam and
Director of River Research Institute Pintu Kanungoe spoke as special guests.
Salient features of the two-day groundbreaking event are– workshop, cad
expert contest, mechamind, idea contest, poster presentation, smart
management and mistro.
Around 300 te
achers, researchers and students from Bangladesh University of
Engineering and Technology, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology,
Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Islamic University of
Technology and Pabna Science and Technology University are taking part in the
carnival.
