Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has instructed the Nepali ambassadors and heads of all Nepali diplomatic missions to inform the respective countries about the major change in the country. During a virtual meeting with the heads and representatives of Nepali diplomatic missions abroad today, she emphasized the importance of conveying the significant developments in Nepal to the concerned countries and stakeholders, as shared by Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Karki called for necessary coordination to garner the support of foreign governments and organizations in light of the upcoming elections slated for March 5, 2026. She highlighted the need to inform the international community about the resumption of normalcy in Nepal following the decline in tourism and other activities due to the September 8 and 9 protests. The Prime Minister stressed that Nepal is now open, and economic activities have resumed.
Prime Minister Karki further emphasized the need for widespread publicity of these developments to relevant locations, governments, and stakeholders. Additionally, she urged the Chief of Missions to provide efficient, fast, and technology-friendly services to meet the expectations of millions of Nepalis living abroad since the major recent change in the country. She also highlighted the importance of publicizing the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund set up by the government to gather financial support for the crucial reconstruction efforts needed in Nepal, as shared by Spokesperson Chhetri.
