FNJ Bhaktapur chapter convention concludes


The ninth convention and annual general meeting of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Bhaktapur chapter was held today. The session of the chapter was held amid the boycott of the Press Union, Bhaktapur.

Inaugurating the event, parliamentarian Durlav Thapa said that journalism should be based on ethics and above any political ideology.

He argued that genuine journalists were disappearing from this profession and termed it pathetic to all working journalists.

Likewise, Bagmati Provincial Assembly Member Devendra Shrestha said the media should be able to convey a positive message to control the mass exodus of youths to foreign countries. He emphasized that journalists should uphold the ethics of journalism and disseminate such news that brings positive thoughts.

Likewise, the Chairman of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) and former President of FNJ Dharmendra Jha said that the FNJ will not escape from the challenges adding that it will definitely work to resolve those issues. Jha stated that the purif
ication of the journalists was itself a challenging task.

However, the convention failed to elect a new working committee today citing different reasons.
