DHAKA, Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the next general
election will be held as per the constitution.
“The next parliamentary election will be held under the present government .
. . This election will be held in a free and fair manner,” he told a function
at the Laboratory School and College of Dhaka University here.

Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Sujit Ray and AL senior leaders, among
others, were present at the function with President of Relief and Social
Welfare Secretary AKM Rahmat Ullah in the chair.
Quader said, “As long as the people of the country are with Sheikh Hasina, we
will ignore any ultimatum issued by BNP. The government will not budge an
inch from the constitution.”
BNP is plotting sabotage by bringing terrorists from all over the country in
Dhaka, he said they (BNP) are conspiring to create unstable situation to
achieve ill political motive.
The AL General Secretary said BNP is giving ultimatum to destroy peaceful
atmosphere in the country. “Their dream would not come true . . . The Awami
League will give befitting answer against any ill attempt of BNP,” he added.
