Kathmandu: Minister for Forest and Environment, Birendra Prasad Mahato, has sought multi-actors’ role on preservation of natural heritages.
During an inauguration of three-day film festival on biodiversity organized by an Indian organization, CMS, here Friday, Minister Mahato expressed belief that the festival would be fruitful to highlight the climate change issues in addition to biodiversity conservation.
He expressed worry over the suffering meted out by the climate crisis in mountain region. The extreme weather events as melting snow, drying up of lakes, flashfloods and droughts have been unavoidable reality, he said, expecting that the event would also create public awareness on environment.
The festival is held with the cooperation of IUCN, Forest and Environment Ministry, WWF Nepal, Zoological Society of London, and NEFEJ.
