Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has returned home today after concluding a four-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, high officials of the Government of Nepal, and Chiefs of the security bodies welcomed the Prime Minister at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport. On the occasion, a contingent of the Nepali Army presented a guard of honour to the PM.
According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Oli departed for China on December 2 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang. During his time in Beijing, PM Oli held a significant meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. Additionally, a bilateral meeting was conducted between the Prime Minister and his Chinese counterpart, where they discussed various topics of mutual interest.
The visit also saw the signing of several agreements between
Nepal and China, aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors. The delegation accompanying PM Oli included his spouse Radhika Shakya, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, the PM’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, lawmakers, government special class officials, representatives from the private sector, and media persons.
