JAMALPUR, Voting in the first phase of Upazila Parishad Election in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila of the district was held peacefully .
District Election Office sources said voters cast their voting rights amid a peaceful environment from 8 am to 4 pm without any break.
The office said during polling law enforcers were active in maintaining the law and order situation.
Five candidates for chairman post, three candidates for vice-chairman post and two candidates for woman vice-chairman post are contesting in the polls.
